Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family. We thought that we would write our family Christmas letter on our blog this year. That way only ones interested in reading can read. We are so excited for Christmas this year. Our family is now complete and we can celebrate together. It seems that every year I say how fast the time flies by, and this year is no different.
Vance has been working hard this year. He is still working as captain at Skywest Airlines. He is also the family mechanic. He seems to always need to be fixing something on a car. He also has begun to take the kids a couple of times a month so I can get a girls night out (yes, I married the best man ever!). He is also the kids big bear and jungle jim. The boys are always climbing all over him and Mikayla and Isaac like to wrestle with him while he acts like a bear. It is so nice to be married to a man that is so amazing.
After school finished last year Vance and I decided that with a baby on the way I should stay at home with the kids for awhile. I miss teaching alot, but it has been nice to be able to not worry about babysitters for the first time in my life. Now I am working on cooking more of a variety of foods and keeping up with the never ending battle of laundry.
Mikayla is in the fifth grade this year. She has taken up a love of writing and we love to read the stories that she writes. She seems to like mysteries the most. During the summer we would stay up late with her every Wednesday night and watch a show called the othersiders. It would take us to different places and explore whether the place was really haunted or not. Mikayla is old beyond her years sometimes and she will not let others tell her what she should be thinking. I love that about her. One day we argued about whether dinosuars could ever live again and I said that dinosuars couldn't because no organisms could be alive in thier bones, she said the opposite. Then one day we were watching a dateline and they talked about how they have found dinosuar organisms in some recent bones. Boy did I have to eat my words.
Isaac is as fun as ever. He has so much energy. We have discovered his love of animals so Vance downloaded a bunch of pictures of different animals from the internet. We spent many hours showing him the pictures and him naming the animals. Now he likes to name them and say thier sound and even act out the animals actions. He has even gotten Logan naming all the animals. Isaac also loves attention. When we walk to pick up Mikayla from school he always says hi to everyone who walks past him. At church he has made himself known to all because he likes to run up on the stand during sacrement and wave to all the people. Vance has gotten many comments on how good he is getting at catching him before he reaches the stand.
Logan is my little daddy's boy. Not only does he look just like Vance, he just loves Vance. When Vance went up to bless Isabella this year Logan cried out "Daddy" several times until my mom had to take him out. He is an extremly smart boy that remembers everything. He loves to talk. He also loves Mikayla. At the primary program a few weeks ago he found Mikayla on the stand and kept yelling for her. When she got up to speak he wouldn't stop yelling her name and Isaac decided to join in. Needless to say, Mikayla was the only kid at church with her own cheering section.
Isabella Susan Larsen was born on August 13th, 2009. (Grandpa Jerry's birthday) She has been such a sweet baby from the beginning. From the day she was born she has been a good sleeper. She has been sleeping for atleast eight hours a night since she was two months old. Our boys don't even do that. She is quick to smile and puts up with her two brothers that constantly want to hold her, kiss her, and hug her. She is my mama's girl. The two times I have tried to leave her with Vance she has cried and since she wants to eat every two hours she comes on my girls night outs. She recently started laughing and when we laugh she will start to giggle.
We have been truly blessed this year. We want to thank you all for your love, friendship and support. We wouldn't be where we are without the support of our friends and family. We hope you have a wonderful Holiday and remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Love, The Larsens
